What is an Islamic Biomorphic Pattern?
Islamic Biomorphic pattern consists of vegetal patterns that are inspired by nature but aren’t a direct representation of it. Rather, they are stylised and manipulated to create a more abstract feel and transport the viewer to another world.
Khatai is a type of Islamic Biomorphic pattern composed of leaves, flowers and buds that emerge in gentle sweeping curves that mimic the underlying order of nature.
